Vintage 1950s The Popular Encyclopedia of Gardening - Set of Three Volumes. A fantastic set of three volumes of vintage gardening books printed around the 1950s. Each vintage hardback book has a black leather cloth with green and gold decoration and titles - Volume One A-HAK, Volume Two HAL - PRI, and Volume Three PRI - Z and Calendar. A wonderful vintage set of books, crammed full of knowledge for the budding and also expert gardener alike, you won't find decking here, but real back to roots gardening. This collectable set is must for your gardening vintage book collection, especially as a reference books, so much gardening techniques to learn. Published by The Waverley book Company in 1950. Tiny rubbing at corners, 560 pages, approximately sizes of this informative books each measure approximately 11'' (28 cms) deep x 8 5'' (22 cms) wide. Binding and green endpapers in excellent condition. Each vintage volume with colour plate front piece opposite title page (first edition). Many black and white illustrations and photos and colour plates. Pages are clean and unmarked with only a very slight tinge of discolour (no fox spots etc), hand written name title and date inside each book but this does not detract from these fabulous vintage books still being of excellent information for today’s gardening enthusiast. The arrangement of this vintage work is alphabetical, cross-referenced, using the common names, with meaning of botanical names given. The vintage gardening set is ready to use, very nice condition.
